18 Trees in Adão Barata Park in Loures receive Identification Plaques
29 Mar. 2024
Discovering nature and biodiversity in Adão Barata Park (PAB) is the joy of a city that, in its most natural form, invites the public to explore the park's verdant setting and contribute to the promotion of sustainable practices.
As part of the "PAB_LivingLab - Vive a Descarbonização no Parque Adão Barata" project, 18 trees of the Freixo Comum species, a riparian tree native to Europe, recently planted and sponsored by the primary and secondary schools of the Municipality of Loures, now have identification plaques with QR Codes, installed on 15th February, whose aim is to identify the trees that adorn the Living Laboratory of Decarbonization, providing a more positive and conscious vision of the urban environmental scenario.
Continuing the upgrading of the PAB's green area, the visual identity of the information boards allows all visitors to explore the challenges and works produced by the students, creating an interactive experience as they walk through the Park.

The purpose of the signs is precisely to protect the permanent preservation areas of the new trees that permeate Adão Barata Park.
They were installed with the support of Floema, the company responsible for putting up the signs, and were an opportunity for AIDGLOBAL and the project's partner organizations to mobilise all visitors towards urban afforestation.
“PAB_LivingLab – Vive a descarbonização no Parque Adão Barata”, is funded by the EEA Grants Environment Programme, its promoter is AIDGLOBAL - Ação e Integração para o Desenvolvimento Global - and its partners are Loures City Council, the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, bim+, dstsolar and Innovation Point.
